I have just bought this collectors book and I am very impressed with it. The pictures are vibrant, the information is detailed, and the research is evident. It gives the reader a great deal of information on the books, the toys, the history, and the upcoming film. I was glad to see that it didn't stop at his works but delved into the world of figurines as well. It is a must have for any Tolkien fan or collector.

I found this book to be an extensive resource for Tolkien's writings, the many publishers and cover artists, the first editions and the latest available, and the writings you may never heard of. Seeing the covers of some of the early paperbacks was like finding long lost friends, the editions I grew up reading. I also found the sections on the merchandise spawned by the previous animation features and the new movie trilogy to be very detailed. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the visual history of Tolkien's works and the art inspired by them.
